No more school! No more books!

At least not until January 17th or so.

Yay!

Last night I finished my book for thesis prep, had it bound at Copy Max (fuck Kinko's- you take something in to be spiral bound and they give you an estimated turn around time of three days), and promptly headed home to watch three episodes of Gilmore Girls, Season 3, and knit a sock. I got the set for my b-day a month ago and have only watched one episode, with school and all.

Woo-hoo!!!!

I really hate school. I hate it. I love studying architecture, but I hate most things about academia. I hate the detachment from the real world, I hate snotty professors who spout crap like "students need to travel more" and don't understand that I have to work all summer to pay for their fucking paychecks (where will they be when the student loans come due?), I hate carrying a backpack, I hate not having time to relax, I hate that horrible feeling I get in my stomach when I have five things to do at once. You give people money, and they give you homework and stress. It SUCKS. I love working so much more.. You do work and have stress and deadlines, but people give you money for it. But, I need to finish this degree, and then hopefully I never have to go back, unless the economy tanks or architects become obsolete or something. And I am making the most of school, despite my bitching. I have met so many new friends, and I am really excited about my thesis project. I can't say I don't look forward to graduating, tho.

I digress. This is a knitting blog! No place for bitching unless it's about an accidentally felted sweater!

To do over break, knitting wise;

1. Finish the socks I am working on. That may mean re-doing the heel on one. hmmm....
2. Make myself a new thing- I'm thinking a poncho or cardigan.
3. Possibly start some presents for later?
4. Maybe start an afghan

I think that, realistically, only the first two will happen. Which is fine. Whatev. I get overly ambitious. I'm just so happy to have some free time again. aaahhhh.

I will soon post pics of the socks I am working on.
